James Blair

is a passionate and dedicated figure in the world of pop and dance music. His love for remix culture began in the mid-80s when he started collecting 12” singles, drawn in by the innovative work of legendary producers and remixers such as Shep Pettibone, Trevor Horn, and the PWL mixmasters. These early influences fueled his fascination with how radio hits could be transformed into something even more dynamic and exciting.

Inspired by the groundbreaking work of remix legends like Brothers in Rhythm, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, The Freemasons, Paul Oakenfold, and Chicane, Project K soon embarked on his own journey into music production and remixing. After completing a course in sound production and studio engineering, he set up a home studio with a close friend, creating original music and remixes. Under the management of Tom Watkins (who worked with artists like Pet Shop Boys, Bros, and East 17), James further honed his craft.

James’ remixing career began serendipitously when he created extended versions of some of his favorite Kylie Minogue tracks. What started as a personal project soon found its way onto file-sharing sites, and the “Project K Remix” brand was born. Since then, he has become known for his unique and fresh take on pop classics, working with artists such as Kim Wilde, Dannii Minogue, Steps, Ricky & Nina, and Rozalla.
